Some of the coaching tools and assessment methods I use to help provide greater insight into a person’s capabilities and potential.

Survey of Influence Effectiveness

The Survey of Influence Effectiveness is a multidimensional survey that identifies how effectively an individual influences others by comparing self-perceptions to the perceptions of others. It gives a clear picture of an individual’s most effective means of influencing others and points out areas for improvement. Professionals can use this knowledge to produce better results from interactions with others.

Leadership Assessment

Traditionally, leadership has been equated with the ‘heroic’ model personified by military heroes, political greats, and a John Wayne type of character. Yet, most successful business leaders don’t fit this model. Lore has identified five dimensions in which modern business leaders exhibit consistent strength. The 360-degree Lore Leadership Assessment measures perceived skill and effectiveness in the five dimensions of the Lore Leadership Model: moral, intellectual, courageous, collaborative, and visionary/inspirational.

Interviews

Since my coaching is flexible and adapted to the client, I often interview people in the coachee’s eco-system, for example: superior/s, colleagues, peers, direct reports, and possibly clients. For each engagement I identify which questions will be most useful and use the same for everyone. I then summarize the interview themes and support them with anonymous quotes, as appropriate.

Myers-Briggs Type Indicator

The most widely used personality inventory in the world, the MBTI instrument provides an accurate picture of a person’s personality type. Myers-Briggs describes personality in terms “of preferences for how we are energized, how we take in information, how we make decisions, and how we chose to relate to the world”. Understanding characteristics unique to each personality type, provides insight on how they influence an individual’s way of communicating and interacting with others.

Firework Coaching

We all know many people who are unhappy in their work but who don't know what to do next. This programme is ideal for such people; it’s an extremely effective career coaching programme which has been carefully tailored using research into best practice in career evaluation and transition, backed up by experience as a career coach.

The Birkman Method

The Birkman Method® is an industry-leading personality assessment and related report that facilitates team building, executive coaching, leadership development, career management and interpersonal conflict resolution. It consists of a 298-question personality assessment and a series of related report sets It combines motivational, behavioural and interest evaluation into one single assessment, which provides a multi-dimensional and comprehensive analysis, thus reducing the need for multiple assessments. The questionnaire is delivered on-line and should take about 45 minutes to complete.

We look at your Best Self and Shadow characteristics are and why, your Shadow behaviour - the negative and reactive place that individuals go when under pressure or stress – the same behaviours and what would help you to be more in Best Self – your most productive and pleasant response to life.
